I did it. It was passed his nap time and I didn't want him to fall asleep during the 20 minute car ride home so I . . .
gave him a chocolate chip cookie. He stayed awake and made quite the mess. But I would do it again in a heart beat to preserve my 2 hours of peace, the nap.
